I inherited a 38 special snubby when my grandfather passed but the thing shoots 6-7 inches high and a little left. I would just trade it in on another gun but the sentimental value stops me from doing that.
Is there anyway i can adjust the point of aim on these fixed sights, maybe with some filing or something?
A lot depends on your load. Most fixed sight .38's are sighted for 158 grain lead bullets at 850 FPS. They are a bit slower out of a 2". Sounds like your using a really light 148 grain wadcutter load. Move up a notch but not to +p. The hotter the load the lower the impact. Another thing is, have you ever used a 2" revolver before. It is real easy to pull the barrel up or down with the trigger pull. What is the make of the revolver? What range are you shooting at? Much beyond 10 yards and you are going to have problems with out a lot and I mean a lot of practice. ;)

I have used this quite alot since i was a teen, i was shooting from a very stable mount at about 5-7 yards and using everything from factory wadcutters to reloads using 158 gr bullets with a 4 grain charge of unique. But whatever i did it would shoot high left. Of course i learded how to guess the point of aim and actually hit something once in awhile.
The pistol is a Rossi and says made in brazil, like i said i really don't care much about the value it mainly holds sentimental value to me. Just would like to know if there is anyway of adjusting the sights by maybe filing or maybe even using some jb weld to build up the sights if need be.
Oh and the groups themselfs weren't all that bad 3-5 inches just in the wrong area.
Oh and thanks for the help really appreciate it.
I have a Rossi or I should say my daughter has my Rossi 68. I carried it for a long time in a lot of places. Good little revolver, got my ass out of a couple bad places. The only thing I can think of is trigger pull. Mine is dead on at 15 yards with 158 grain "FBI" loads or my equlivent handloads. IF, big if, I concentrate. Now I am talking double action. I see no reason to cock this thing. Ajust your aim, don't try to adjust the gun. ;)
