Just got my British .308 Nato today. Four round links.
Is there an easy way to get the ammo off the links? Took me about 2 mins to delink one four rounder. It will take me a month of Sundays at this rate.
Maybe I was going about it the wrong way, I hope.

I would recomend using a vickers.
Push the round through the link by using a wooden dowel.

If it is like the links used in the saw or M-60, I forgot the nominclature. M-13 or M-27??? Anyways.. push the rounds from the projectile first. You want to go backward, the primer and case bottom should go forward. That little finger that holds the rounds in the cut out for the extractor, (forgot that name too) is going to be a bitch if you push the rounds projectile first. You can use a block of wood, just use the edge. This way the rounds will not all bottom out on the wood. Place the projectile on the wood and push down, this should release that finger and allow the link to decentegrate. This is not the most time effective manner, but it the only way I used in the service. I used to strip rounds for 16 gunners, at the range. Hope this Helps. LET ME KNOW how it works. 8dDUCE.

I ment to say that it would be a bitch IF YOU DO NOT PUSH THE PROJECTILE FIRST, due to the retaining finger at the base of the casing. Sorry, 8dDUCE.

You da MAN 8d!
That worked like a charm. I got one can done in about 15 mins. Two more to go.
I used an old beat up nightstand table. Pushed down the tips towards the edge of the table. After several rounds a dimple formed in the wood and once you get the motion down you can go pretty fast.
Seemed like a waste to throw away all the links but I don't have any use for them.
