Here is my 10/22 the mighty plinker of rabbit slaying!I had the original barrel cut down to 16.5" and threaded 1/2x28,recrowned the muzzle and had a beaded sight ramp installed. This still shoots as well as the day I first got it many many moons ago. When I put it on the bench 1-2" groups easy at 50 yards.I need to take it back in and have the old holes retapped and install a see through base for a nice little reddot sight.

I have toyed with the idea of a krinker plinker kit but spending 300.00 for a kit and putting it on a rifle that cost under 200.00 is in my opinion retarded.I'll reserve the AK look to real AK type rifles. If I could have a complete rifle like the krinker plinker at the cost of my 10/22 then sure I'll take one.The only add on worth putting on a 10/22 is the extended mag release but even then it is not needed.

The Ruger 10/22 is like the old SAR-1, a basic rifle that shoots well as is, but can be the start of a personal, one-of-a-kind. Nothing wrong with keeping either original either.

Cool!

I'm one of those with a tendancy to dump more than the original cost into a 10/22...

To each their own, these are the best and most pimpable semi auto rimfire rifles out there.

I did not mean anyone who pimped theirs out was a retard but referred to myself being a retard if I did it.

If I had the tools and the time I would make a Thompson 10/22 clone and maybe my own krinker plinker but I just cannot bring myself to spending that kind of cash on my little rabbit killer.

I did see Ruger is now selling a target model 10/22,I might do that.

Hey, no offense taken!:D

There's been times I've added up what I had in one and thought "Dude, you dropped $200 into a rifle you bought used for $100. What a dumbass!":lool:

Right now I have two 10/22's in the safe (one a secret project and the other the basis for whatever mods catch my fancy), a tricked out one on layaway at a local shop (Fajen stock, VQ trigger group, A&B barrel, forgot the optics) and it comes with a spare Hogue OM as well and yesterday I put a used 10/22T on layaway.

I need to quit buying these damn things and get another safe!
