M-44 purchase

1. I went to the barrel to get my gun. I followed the advice of Redstar. The bolt of the receiver was a mismatch with the rest of the gun and the barrel was pitted.

2. The Russian had matching parts, good barrel and stamped 45 with the Soviet emblem on it. The only thing it didnt have was the cleaning rod.

3. He asked $89.00, I told him they were a dime a dozen and wasnt complete due to no cleaning rod. We arrived at $40.00. I took it.:D

Thats great! You got the sling which most don't have. The sling compensates for the lack of rod IMO. You can get a rod from Tapco for $10.

1. Just finished shooting her. Very good. Way out of wack though, had to zero her in again. But sighted in fine.

2. Over my Christmas Tree for the Holidays.

3. Marking show a Triangle with an full arrow inside plus the Soviet emblemn. Bolt also has triangle and arrow with same serial numbers.

neilwest, arrow in triangle is the Ishevesk arsenal mark. That's where they make all the Russian AK's these days.

shoot it with the bayonet out, it has big groups and shoots to the left with the bayonet folded, but put it out, and its tiny little group dead nutz.

they are ass kicking rifles, i love mine. dont have no trouble plinking rocks out to 300 yards in the backyard.

1. That sounds logical. I shot with the bayonet in and I had to adjust almost 1/4 inch right to compensate.
