Boy 1-Pat', I'm makin' a guess here but, FWIW, M-2's "Used" to be part of the "Low-End" Full Auto gun selection. The always "Seemed" to run a couple hundred bucks higher than a MKII Sten or Reising (Back when those things ran in the $1,000-$1,300 range you saw M-2's for $1,500-$1,700) but weren't up at the "mid-Range" "Tube-Gun" (Built on a new tube) MP-40 or UZI's $2,200-$2,500 prices.

If they're still in the same "Niche" even IF the prices have all gone way up since then I'd consider that MKII's are NOW up above $2,500 and MP-40's and UZI's can run anywhere from $3,000 to $4,500.

Like I said, I'm just pullin' this outta My ass but, I'd "THINK" You'd be in the $2,500+ (Probably"+") range for a Non-Original gun that'd been converted before the '86 "fun" (Or most likely, just before it).

If the gun is original military? Shit, the sky's the limit.

Anyway, I'm sure all this guesswork on My part will be of great help to you!:D

I'm thinkin' three "big ones" 1-Pat'.

The Iver Johnson is not a military original. They were produced for consumers in semi-auto. They weren't very expensive when new, as I recall. I would say that you could probably get the piece for about $250 if it is new, as stated.

Be seeing you.

#6 I wish you were right!!!! :D LOL we're talking about the NFA weapon.I presume of course you left off a zero....:D
If I could get one for 3bills I'd be VERY happy Treadhead....I could live with that...Sell a few of my semi's and join the NFA crowd.

Only problem might be #6 says they are not military original?
It'd have to be a C+R for me to buy in this scumhole of a state.

Is that right? None of the IVER JOHNSON M2's are military original????
Thanks for the replies so far guys.Much appreciated.

PM4038A, right? I'm unaware of a military production run by IJ.

My brain seizure refused to see the "M2" in the original post. :)

The IJ M2 was for law enforcement, I believe. Real pre-May is about a $3K piece. I've seen $2900 95%+ IJ M2s...

Be seeing you.

PS If you don't like it, I will, in fact, give you two hundred and fifty American dollars for it... :D

PM4038A, right?

???? Don't know what you mean....

That would be okay if it were built for LEO use as long as it was original full auto and not a conversion......C+R of course.....Are all the original M2's qualified as C+R or just certain years?
Thanks for the info so far #6. I could deal with around 3K...Somewhat reasonable as the unconstitutional NFA goes anyway.....

LOL on your offer!:D

PM3048A was the IJ part number on the last one that I saw. $3K really isn't sooooo bad for something as cheap to shoot full auto as .30 carbine. I need to stop talking about this, since it is starting to get very appealing. I'm planning on owning a full auto within the coming year. I wish that I would have jumped on a few back before '86. Day late and a dollar short, as usual. Looks like I'm going to be short that dollar and $2999 more!

FWIW, I have never seen a post-May IJ M2. There are others who might know more than me, but every IJ M2 I have ever seen has been pre-May.

C&R status I don't know about. I don't think that has much to do with full auto weapons, but I could again be quite wrong.

Be seeing you.

Here's one from www.autoweapons.com but it doesn't say it's C&R (other weapons they have say 'C&R') and it doesn't say if it's transferable or not. But there's a price at least, maybe if you call these guys they can fill you in with some details. They have alot of other stuff as well.

.45 Subguns are pretty awesome... It's in your price range....they're C&R...You only live once....Remember I'm your friend, so if you get one I get to shoot it too...

Ammo could be prohibative though I guess. Maybe not that much more than 30 Carbine...

Thanks Redstar for the link and pics.....I looked at one of the Reisings at the MG shoot...Can't remember if I shot it or not...
That's definitely in the possibility column, though I prefer the M2 or better yet Ar18.....SW 76's are out though, even uglier than the Reisings.....

#6, Certain states like this POS I live in, only allow C+R Mg's.(better than NONE that some states allow)...besides we can have them delivered directly to our door also...(after the hoop jumping that is) and save a $200 transfer....

Thanks again for the info #6 and Redstar....It's a deal of course Redstar, you just have to pay for the transportation.... :D

HOLY CRAP....These guys are on the high side......Aside from the pretty good deal on the Reisings and that M2....THEY WANT 8K for an AR18.....Those can be found in the $4500-5500 dollar range unless there's been a sudden jump in the past few months.....

Wow I wish I lived in your State 1POM! I live in a NONE state. I can't even order a pistol with my C&R. I think I will petition Gov. Pataki.........

REISING
I have always had a soft spot for the REISING SMG. From what I remember it was to be an inexpensive suppliment to the THOMPSON but it for some reason, never saw a lot of duty. I think the REISING was used mostly in guard posts.

There probably is a way around that Zoauve....I know in this POS state I could become a manufacturer/SOT,or manufacturer of Ammunition, then I could play with the non C+R Full auto stuff too.....I think probably your Socialist state is the same?.....
I was eyeing doing just that;becoming a manufacturer...Then I could turn all my Semi's into full auto.....Of course if you let the license lapse you would either have to turn them back into semi's or sell them to other SOTs or law enforcement, couldn't keep any of them.......

I think you are right about the reisings,an awful lot of them appear to be prisoner control devices....:D

Well 1-Pat', your idea about gettin' a manufacturers license ain't bad in My opinion.

I know some folks don't think it's a "real" alternative to transferrables but, Our buddy We go shootin' with did just that. He figured, "Why pay $10,000 for a couple of keepers when, for about 1/15th of that, I could get my license and have a bunch of them?"

I dunno, there may be some pitfalls I'm not aware of but, for $500/yr He's put together a pretty decent collection. The 7-8 FA's in the photo' were all semi's last year. Now, they're some pretty nice runnin' (REALLY CHEAP) FA's. The NHM/RPK in the picture has about $400 in it total and runs like a freakin' sewin' machine!

Seems like, at $500/yr, You'd get to play for a lotta years before You forked out the price of even ONE transferrable gun AND (Here's the best part) You can do like My bud' and do the MG shoots and charge folks to shoot Your "Cheap" converted guns to save up for a "Keeper". Goin' rate around here is $10/mag and it's standin' room only.

You bet Treadhead...I agree 100%.....I talked to a SOT at the last local MG shoot,he recommended it as an option to buying transferables. They do the same thing, rent em out twice a year at the local shoot(he probably does other MG shoots too)...Plus if you live in a NORMAL state you can buy premay dealer samples which will save you a little bit off the normal transferable price, which you can keep after quitting the business......Only qualms I have is you WOULD have to run it as a business.....How many guns do you think you'd have to sell so the ATF would recognize you as running a business when renewal time comes??
Why don't you ask your buddy for me how much of a business you really have to make it?
Thanks Treadhead!

BTW Nice diverse "little" collection of fun he has there!!!!
