I see Century has Bosnian Mausers model M48 and M48A. Our this the same as the Yugo M48 and M48A?

Yes, I've seen both models and they are identical to the Yugo's except the stocks are more of a reddish color and they had a serial number stamped in the wood. My Yugo M48A doesn't have the wood stamped. They're darker than most of the blondish Yugo's I've seen.

The ones I saw were the unissued grades and they were very nice, covered in cosmo though. I was considering one of these VG ones myself.

Yes, I believe they are the same as the Yugoslav mausers. I've had several dozen 48's and 48-A's run through my business and almost all had a serial number the same as the receiver stamped on the cheek side of the buttstock near the buttplates.

I've yet to see one like Redstar describes not having a number. Just "shows-to-go-ya" nothing is impossible when it comes to antique martial arms.

On a similar note of things that should be stamped on a rifle but are missing. I've got a Springfield 03 WWII rebuild rifle that has a High Standard 4 groove barrel. In the flaming bomb ordnance mark on the barrel there should be a punch mark. It's supposed to be punched after a test firing. My rifles barrel is not punch marked. Means either they didn't fire it after building, (not likely) or they just forgot to punch it, (probably what happened).

Thanks for the info. I think they will be on my list to buy in the future.
