Wasn't sure. I know that there are a couple of AK smiths that do fine work but when you start to add up prices it gets expensive. You start to add it up it's pretty close to a built one. Plus I don't build. I buy them already done.

That is correct if you add up quality parts, have a good smith do the work, completely refinsh the gun, you will have a few bucks into it plus with our Red Jacket Conversions you have 5 year warranty to protect the rifle. Our parts are supplied by brand name companys,Lauer Dura Cote, TAPCO,K-VAR, Armory USA etc. So these are not garage built hack n wack Saigas. Recon feel free to contact me direct and we can discuss price, we could probably work out a nice range report dicsount for you. Here is our email atlanticfirearm@aol.com

Redjacket Firearms. They have a very good rep! Bought some mags from the owner a while back. Check your mail!

If you are going to do the work yourself (and its really not hard) then you will save quite a bit of cash. If you are planning to use a gunsmith to do the work, then what's the point? Just buy one from Atlantic.
I personally have converted two .308's and it was a cake walk - only need a dremel and hand drill to do the work.
I would estimate the cost of a converted 7.62 with G-2 fcg and kmart furniture (buttstock and pg) to be about $425.

We only carry the 16 inch rifles , the longer units do not sell so we don't stock them .
