How does Saiga compare to Vepr (and other AKs)? How accurate is the Saiga?

I like Saigas better than Veprs because they don't weigh as much as Veprs. My Saigas in .223 will shot 2 MOA. Veprs are suppose to shoot a little better. I converted my .223 Saiga to use Galil 35 round Orlite mags.....

Just kidding, both are fine firearms.
Saiga's will be easier (and cheaper) to come by and can be modified alot of different ways to suit the end-users needs, while the VEPR is better left unmodifired.
By far the VEPR is the premium of premium AK's and even though it costs more than a converted Saiga you will be able to tell where that extra money went when you fire one.

I was thinking of doing mine up with a Russian solid-stock sidefolder & Hungy rear grip & then I see yours. No question how I'll dress it now.

That looks hAwT!

I own a saiga in 76239, not very accurate at all. I guess that most ak's aren't accurate anyway. I have read alot about the vepr, I would guess the vepr is more accurate then the saiga.

I was hitting plastic bottles at over 100 yards with open sights with the rifle above. I was shocked........ Gotta love a .223 Saiga....Ammo was cheap Wolf 55 grain FMJ.

I plan on buying a .223 Saiga, but my VEPR II with a PK-AS-V sight is plenty accurate. It is my favorite AK that I own. I can't believe that these sold for only $450 a few years ago. They may be heavy, but they are extremely high quality. Their barrels are hammer forged, and I have not heard that the Saiga barrels are hammer forged. Both are chrome lined though.
