Just got my first 223 rifle. It's a RAA Saiga 16" Hunter Carbine
made in 04/2006.

Have a couple of questions for fellow Saiga owners:

1)What are the 1 2 and 3 markings on the rear sight? Is that 100, 200 300 meters or yards? The owners manual is crypic.

2)I am looking for factory 223 mags. Anyone sell them?

3)I understand it has an AK mount. Would the POSP 4x24 AK scope be appropriate for a 223 Saiga?

4)I got a bunch of 55gr wolf laquered 223 for this Carbine. Did I screw up?

5)How do you properly pronouce "Saiga"? Is the "g" silent?

1) meters
2) yes of course - try http://www.fbmginc.com but it depends on what you are talking about exactly. If you are talking high cap, then you're best bet is to add a bullet guide and convert Weigers, Bulgarians or the ever popular Galil mags to work in your rifle - of course in doing so, you turn it into an evil assault rifle and then need to consider the 922r ruling (parts count)
3) yes, that would be a good scope for your rifle if you want that type (long range capable) or you could go with a PSOV which is a black/red dot - shorter distance quick aquisition shooting
4) no, you did fine - which exact type of ammo your gun likes is something that you have to experiment with - try different brands to see what shoots the best, but the Wolf is fine for fun shooting
5) as mentioned

FWIW, I got my spare factory 223 mag from FBMGInc but it has problems with feeding from the right side for some reason. Original that came with rifle has no problems.

I emailed them to see if I could get it exchanged.

Thanks all for the info.
