Thanks again for the advice on the 7/32 clips on my retaining pins, worked like a charm..I installed the red star fcg in my 308 and overall seemed pretty simple..put one of those drag type rommy thumb stocks on it for now...looks good I think..have yet to fire it yet but when cycling the action it seems to be a little tighter than it was before? is this normal..maybe just the new fcg..seems like the bolt carrier rubs the top of the hammer a little more than before...I dont know maybe just me over thinkin it a little,,,also seems the disconector spring is weaker than the stock unit...any of you guys know what difference it would make between a strong disconnector spring and a weak one..THANKS AGAIN

The Red Star fcg is fully and I mean fully adjustable. It should have come with directions - just remember to use some loctite when you have it where you want. As-is with factory settings, it will be lighter and smoother than the original trigger. You can adjust to single stage too if you want.

Glad its working out! These Saigas are really great rifles :D

If you get the time, post a pic!

would like to post pics of the family ..saiga308..sam5..84s underfolder..just not sure how..anyway..I saw that the rsa fcg came with a allen wrench and loctite but the trigger felt great with the way it was set from the factory..do I need to use locktite anyway....also seems to be a bit of sideways play in the trigger like it may need a bushing or something to go over the axis pin to keep the trigger from having this sideways play..ever experinced this?...anyway thanks again...hopefully I can get this thing ironed out as I was planning on hunting with it soon

It is locktited from the factory, so no, you don't need to mess with it if you leave it as-is.

The side-to-side play is normal and I haven't found any affect of this on function or safety. It can be remidied by getting the correct sized spacers and installing them on either side of the trigger pin.

BTW, you can polish the contact point of the hammer (on the top where it rubs against the bolt carrier) with some emory paper and that will smooth it up.
