Wet? How wet?

Dry? How dry?

or?

Seems it's different strokes for different folks. But I'd really like to know... for the best reliability what is the best lube method (not necessarily which lube).

Im in a dusty climate, and I tend to shoot my weapons where the get dirty, so for me, I use very very little lube.
Basically run the weapon almost dry.
Less shit to gum up.
I use CLP.

Every problem Ive had with jamming ars always came back to over oiling.

I run mine slightly wet. As the USMC tech manual describes, slighlty visible sheen of oil, no "pooling". I also use FP10 which is less prone to gumming up than Breakfree is, due to the lack of Teflon.

Also, living in the North East and right on the water, I am more concerned with corrosion than dust.

I use rem oil, And just spray the parts that need to be lubed and leave it at that.

I keep mine fairly dry. I have started using Marvel mystery oil, one drop will go along way on the bolt another spread on the carrier and then a couple drops on the pivot pins in the FCG. ;)

LOL, noooo. Used to own an old Brit motorcycle. The stuff works and is very cheap compared to "gun oils". Reminds me a lot of Ed's Red but I don't have to mix it. I buy a bottle for $2.45, fill my Breakfree squeeze bottles and pour the rest in one of the cars, or the lawn mower. ;)

It is indeed good stuff, its just that the only folks I've ever met who knew about Marvel, owned an old MG or Triumph at one time or another. :D

Marvel's been around a lllooonnnggggg time... just what makes it so good - or - different... particularly now-a-days that there are so many choices/claims????

What makes it so good is that it's cheap, it works well, and I can get it just about anywhere. An oil or lubricants job is to put a very thin film between metal parts that rub together Marvel does that and won't evaporate at high heat or pressure. I got the idea from another shooter on this board and have been using it ever since. ;)

Sounds like a winner.

Thanks.
