Can you buy aftermarket adjustable choke muzzle devices and if so, could one be attached to a saiga 12ga if the barrel was threaded and the device was permanently attached? Thanks for the info.

I would like to know too...
Are the Saiga shotgun barrels pressed in like the 7.62X39 and .308 Saiga's? I only have the latter 2 not a shotgun and would like to know.
If they are permanently installed(pressed, welded, ect) could you just have the barrel cut and threaded for the choke.
1st Ranger why would you have to permanently install them? They are not muzzle brakes or flash hiders.(just curious)

I don't know why I'd have to permanently install one. I am not all that knowlegable on all the different laws and rules, so I fugure, better safe than sorry. I just assumed that if you have a post ban weapon with a threaded barrel, something had to be put on there "permanently." I may be totally wrong, but like I said, better safe than sorry.

I would like to find out if K-USA or anybody else is selling 19" barrels for the Saiga?
I would rather have an extra barrel to swap out rather than cut my barrel down.

Guys,
Kalash makes a shorter barrel with either interchangeable choke attachments or a vari-choke device. Actually I don't see why one couldn't just take the gun to a 'smith, have the bbl threaded, and buy a standard set of choke attachments.
The Saiga shotgun barrels are attached like those of the rifles, so swapping them is not an option like on a standard shotgun. The normally supplied Saiga bbl. is 23" (measured from the bolt face) and is full choke. IMO the ideal solution is to cut the bbl to about 19-20" and thread it for choke attachments. The shorter length has little if any effect on the gun's performance, and renders it more maueverable and quicker-pointing (I shortened mine to 18 1/2", which to me is perfect - though my priority is tactical/defense rather than hunting or trap shooting. It still throws a realtively tight pattern for a bbl. with no choke and such a short length. Only problem is that I believe this modification voids the warranty, though I see no reason why it should).
Contact Kalashnikov USA Ltd.; they should be able to provide you with all the info. Let us know how things work out.
