"HE'S IN THE EXCLUSIVE CLUB.LESS THEN 5,000 MEMBERS"
Is that total of all dragunovs in the US or are you just counting soviet?
Just curious.
I was also wondering if anyone knew how many chinese dragunovs came in the US in .308 and 7.62X54(seperate if known).
Did he get it yet? So what did you buy with your Drag money?
I am not sure about the numbers, but there are not 5,000 Russians SVD rifles in the States. The numbers I hear are 100 Russian rifles imported directly from Russia.

I am very happy, thanks very much, I cannot wait to try her out. I received the rifle Friday afternoon, and I have already learned a few things I didnt know just tearing her down.
Thanks, Krinkov, good service, no surprises, as advertised, good man to do business with, you guys can trust this man to deliver on time and on target.
BTW this is an early China Sprorts 762x54R NDM-86, most likely imported sometime before 1992, with full military configuration, and Russian proofs on the barrel, and Russian laminated furniture as originally equipped from China.
Lots of rumour here, that these were manufactured and sold by Russia, were headed to a Central/South America country, something went wrong with the contract or the payment, and so they were acquired by China in a deal, back in late 1970's or early 1980's. I cant confirm nor deny this, but I do know some of the parts are marked with Russian proofs. The rifle appears to have all the details and features of a mid production Russian SVD, even as far as having the gloss black paint job. It also has the numerous radiuses and lightling cuts not found on the modern Tigr/Dragunov, but again, features of previous Russian SVD military production.
Maybe someday someone can explain if these rumours are true, etc. There have been people who have said they have visited the manufacturing plant in China that currently makes the Drag, and these models are marked with the Chinese factory code arsenal "66-In-Triangle". Curiously, the early imports have no factory code stamped on them at all.

Oh I see.
The NDM-86 I have that is open doesn't appear to have any arsenal markings on it.
The other NDM-86 I have I don't know it's still sealed in plastic and will stay that way until I sell one or decide to make a frame or something for it to mount on the wall.
Also the 2 I have are .308 rifles not 7.62X54R.
I would like to find one in that caliber just to add to my collection but don't know if it's worth it.

about 2,000 chinese in all variations and importers in 7.62x54 cal.730 type chinese 308 cal dragunovs, and about 1,000 plus tigers along with the california armory models under 1,000 and 100 soviet k.b.i. imports,a true svd from russia, and battlefield pick/ups and bringbacks good estimate of less then 50,do the math.did not count yugo's, or romainian psl's since they are not true svd's, remember the tigers would be if not longer barrel and markings, and faster twist rate barrel, and change of handguards and stocks, glad tantal is happy with his, some of the urban legend is true just need one day to confirm it in writing, the russians and chinese will probably never do it,i have had both versions or you could say five different versions of the chinese, worthy of the name svd.take care, krinkov
Dang so only 730 chinese dragunovs in .308?
Cool so there are only 728 left then. http://www.ak-47.net/akcgi/smile.gif

Hey krinkov if you come across a 7.62X54R rifle let me know if you will.
Maybe make a deal on it.
I wasn't meaning that CDNN had that many I was meaning that there are only 728 besides mine. Not many.
Yeah that's what I got my second one for $1699(when they first got them in and it came with 2 mags) and the first one was cheaper as I got it about a year and a half earlier.
