Finally got to borrow a dig. camera to take a pic of my pair of C&R's. Yugo M48 Mauser and Schmidt Rubin 1911 carbine. Must buy more Mil Surps!

Nice guns, kwb377. Have you had a chance to fire them yet?

The M48 was bought unissued, and I used a bit of steel wool and tung oil to finish it. The SR's original stock was cut down to a sporter configuration, so I got an original style from Stefan in Switzerland. Otherwise it's all matching #'s. I've fired about 200 rounds through each (Turk for the Yugo;Norma and Interarms for the SR). The camera I borrowed is on the low end as digitals go (HP 215). The LCD screen is as blurry as the picture (that, and the fact I'm still a newbie with it).

Nice guns, dont worry about the pictures. Youll get the hang of it. Take some pics of the family first for practice, then take the important pics of you guns after youve mastered the camera.

The Turk stuff seems a bit hot (although it's the only 8mm ammo I've fired, so can't compare it to anything). I had just finished putting about 40 rounds through my Rem. 700P when I first fired the Yugo. Compared to the .308, it sounded like a cannon and had some impressive muzzle flash. I've heard others complain about the bolt being hard to open after firing the Turk ammo, and mine was just a bit stiff.
