Anyone know?

153gr is very very light for 8x57.

To do you mean is it steel or not? I have not tried this yet but I think it is. Put a magnet on the bullet. If it sticks it is steel.

That test won't work. The Turk rounds are Nickel plated steel jacketed.

The standard weight bullet used by the Germans was 198 grains. The Turkish round comes in from what I have seen reported at anywhere from a light 156 grains to maybe 170 grains.

Just trying to figure out the discrepancy.

Some are nickel some are not. I have about 2400 rds half of nickel half of copper.

Should be lead cored. I've pulled the bullets and weighed them. Also I poked the metal with a scratch awl and could put a groove in it easily. It isn't steel in the ones I checked.
