The M-39 I received from Wholegunsnammo unissued condition needs some windage adjustment.
I noticed the front sight has a screw on each side of the front sight,if memory serves me at the moment.
From what I can tell, all I need to do is turn one of these screws to move the sight.
Has anyone made this adjustment and is there anything I need to be aware of so I don't "murphy "it up?
Thanks

You loosen one side.
Then tighten the other side.
(I think)

Look closely at the screw on the left side. You'll see 8 dots going around it. Each dot represents a windage adjustment of 50mm (almost 2") at 100 meters (109 yards).
Look to see which way the sight turns when you go up or down. You'll want to adjust towards the direction the windage is off by.

Thanks for the instructions! They definitely work and now I am shooting straighter.
The M-39 "B" barrel shoots good but not as tight as the VKT though the difference is really negligible, both will do the job.
The gun I am amazed at is the "Still in the wrapper" M-44 Russian from AIM.
What a little beauty and at 35 paces you can just make out the triangle of a 3 round group, the group starts spreading out a bit at 50 paces but that's because of my inability to see the target as clearly and other physical deficiences. It shoots almost as good as my Rem.223-Model 7 bolt action, with a 4X scope. It looks like a brand NEW rifle and cost $69.95.
There's only one big problem and that is- a little monster whispers in my ear, "You'd better get a couple more at that price, cause you'll not have a chance later."
Anyhoo thanks again for the good directions.

In case there's an interest the M-44 I mentioned in the above post, that I got from AIM yesterday is dated 1948r, all numbers match-the Ser.# is 6413,the bolt is absolutely pristine. Don't know if this was a luck of the draw, but suspect it may be.
