The .50 Beowulf cartridge is almost the exact same size as a .500 S&W but it has slightly larger powder capacity and a rebated rim. The .50 Beowulf was made to fit the AR15 platform with a change of upper.

The .50 Beowulf delivers very similar energy and ballistics to the venerable .45-70 but from an AR15 platform.

Yep $1 a round is costly for many but not any more than other big bore calibers out there...a deal compared to some big bore ammo.

What is the $650-700 lower you are talking about? Or did you mean upper?
