Yugo SKS report from SOG...

Well it came in to day and the first thing I thought to my self was it rattle's in the box.this is not a good sigh.so I opened it and found it to look pretty good.

BLUE:
about 85% to 90% but really light.what I mean by light is it's not Black like everyone is talking about.it looks like the bluing on a Chinese ak.
there looked like to be a little rust on it but I got some brake cleaner to it and it came off.(I think it was dried up cosmoline)
over all on the blue I give it a VG -.

WOOD.
the wood is teak.looks a little beat up but in overall G++(with name carved in it)
BORE
now this is what sold me.I ran one can of brake cleaner down the barrel took a flashlight and shined it and took a peek.it looks like it has never been fired!!! no shit the riffling on it looks better then on my ak.really shinny,groves are sharp,lands are flat.no spots at all.I give this a EX+
numbers
looks like all the numbers match.(I think)there is 2 sets of numbers.1 is penciled in and the other one is stamped in.well the stamped one's match.on the bolt there is a funky number 0000-0000-022.what ever that means

1 the cleaning rod was bent all to hell.
2 the flap that covers the cleaning kit was broken
3 the blue was light

1 the bore is mint!!!

over all I give it a VG -.I would go with VG but the wood looks a little rough.
do I think it is worth $149.00,yes
do I think it was worth 174.51,149.00 + 10.00 hand pic ,$8.30 shipping and 2% visa charge no.I don't think it was hand picked.
I'm going to keep the rifle and call them up tomorrow and ask for a new cleaning rod and flap and see what they say.

From the sound of it you did OK especially the bore. Haven't heard many good reports about that. What's the deal with the names in the stocks? Didn't the Serbs have name tags on their uniforms? Does it have the night sights?

Wow, you really got screwed. There's not nearly enough cosmoline on that thing. I'd send it back and ask for a greasier one. Seriously though it looks pretty good. Much better than the one I posted a link to with the cracked and carved stock. I think you did pretty well. Nice socks too :D

Hmmmm Stock doesn't impress me much....Well 6 more days I'll know what mine looks like(unless she got me the K31 instead).
