What is the thread pitch, diameter and length of the Makarov's grip screw? I need to replace mine and it wouldn't be a good idea to take the gun into a hardware store. :|

Genuine replacement grip screws are inexpensive. What "make" is the pistol? If you need an unissued East German replacement, I know of one source, and one source only. Otherwise, I imagine you could pick up Russian or Chinese replacements from a number of sources, including the Gun Parts Corp. Let me know, and I'll get you the appropriate phone number.

It is a Bulgarian with the circle 10 mark. I want the screw for a temporary replacement. I plan on buying the original screw, but Makarov.com will be closed until Jan 4. (I live 20 mins from them, so it's pointless to buy anywhere else.)

I know the thread is 5mm. I don't know the pitch, but I when I
bought some screws, I just asked for standard pitch 5mm.
I used hex head screws. Buy various lengths and see which
works best.

1. I had to replace one myself. it was 5mm finethread. I worked one down fromthe hardare store and then blued it with some cold blue. Looks pretty good.
