Did all the conversion work myself, some of the accessories are inexpensive chinese made but heck,a guys got to have $$ left over to eat,no?
So far this rifle has shown M.O.A. accuracy potential or better with handloads, with drop dead reliability (it`s a kalashnikov should I expect anything different?)The FBMG 20 round mags rock, kinda expensive but theyre the only game in town.I`ve converted this rifle in such a way that I can un-convert and reinstall the sporter stock and handguard in just a few minutes and it will look like a standard factory saiga.

Details on the picatinny rail install on the handguard, please! Where did you get the railing, how'd you mount it, etc.

Very nice work! I dig the paint job.

The 20's look great, I've been hoping someone would come up with a FAL mag conversion or something. Also, we need more info about that rail

I`ll try t5o take some detailed pix soon, basically I just bought some weaver rail in different lengths and drilled through the factory handguard and screwed them on with cap screws and chicago nuts.

I was thinking about doing the same thing to my handguard on my 7.62x39. Was there sufficient material in the handguard to prevent flexing on the sides of the handguard after adding the rail pieces?

Also, what is a chicago nut? I can't seem to google anything on it.

Use the female part on the inside, substitute the male part with a button head cap screw of the same thread pitch-I think it`s 6-32 but take the female part to ACE hdwe to match it uo just to be sure.
