Dear Fellow Members-Got my $333.00 hand select Yugo SKS and am VERY disappointed!Although the bore is bright and blueing good, the gas piston is pitted 1" from the end!The safety rubs on the trigger when actuated and there are three cracks in the stock!A 5" one running the length of the bayonet well,a 1" one from the nose and a 5.25" one running on the right side next to the receiver! The stock appears to be Teak and there are no holes in the grenade launcher, which a dealer buddy told me indicates she's a converted M59.The accesories were a joke. The ammo pouch is an EG grenade pouch, the sling is an EG gray AK-74 sling and the Yugo oiler is a nasty brass affair in an old leather pouch. On the plus side I did get (I think ) ,a complete buttstock cleaning kit with jag, brush and punch. The packing was a joke-it looked like someone just threw the rifle in a box and shipped her!The bolt handle had eaten a hole through the box!Would not care but I had told Stepahanie EXACTLY what I wanted, had told her I had heard about the packing probs. and she was VERY attentive and professional.I think the ball was dropped somewhere between her and the warehouse.I just hope I can exhange this rifle for another one. It's not a bad rifle, but it's not a $300.00 one either!More like a $200.00 one. Will keep you updated!:(-Gearhead.

Send it back Gearhead. I won't accept a cracked stock on a $100 rifle!
I am glad that I am patient enough to wait for AIM to start selling the excellent cond. rifles.

Those aren't the same as the very first mint ones they came out with then. The one I got has a blonde Elm stock on it and is new in every sense of the word. Same with Richard Simmons. Ours look exactly like the ones posted by AKE on the SKS forum. the accessoroes were 100% Yugo, but worn and aged.
That sucks, hope they take good care of you. :(

Dear Shooter and Shuetzenman-A good number of these guns do NOT have primo bores, due to the lack of bore chrome! They can look new on the outside and have marginal bores!Regardless,IO was SO blatant in NOT handpicking me a gun, that I will be contacting them on Dec. 27th when they open. Can you believe that their policy requires you to pay shipping both ways and that the gun must be in the original box? Also, you only have 3 business days to decide if you want to keep it.After that-it's yours!I went into this with eyes wide open knowing how IO can be.But they are supposedly the only importer that is bringing in this grade.Have to even cut my xmas visit to the parents short because of this BS!Will keep you posted:(-Gearhead.

Gearhead, please let me know how the second one works out. I'd like to be able to warn people, if IO is not shipping what they advertise. You'll be doing us all a very important service.
Sorry to hear about cutting the visit short with your parents.
Anyway, Happy Holidays.

Dear BCA-E-mailed IO last Friday after I received the rifle and received an answer from Uli on Dec. 24th.Uli is higher up in the chain of command,so let's hope this flies. He apologized and said to call on 12/27 to get an RMA #.Acc. to IO policy, you MUST return an item within 3 business days of receiving it,you must pay shipping BOTH ways, send a copy of the receipt and you MUST get an RMA#.If you don't get an RMA #,they can refuse to accept it!As you can see, they are strict about returns.Maybe mine was a fluke, since other people seem to be getting nice ones. But it was obvious whoever picked and packed mine did not heed my hand-pick instructions,as there are STILL 3 wood cracks,a pitted gas piston and a bent safety! They also just threw the rifle in a box ,along with the accessories! That's why the bolt ate a hole through the box!I have spent $5.00 on bubble wrap and $16.00 on shipping both ways,so this $333.00 SKS will become a $350.00 SKS,so it had better be good! Will keep all of you informed.I have collected ,restored and shot Milsutps for almost 8 years and this is the third dog that I've gotten (also the most expensive!)Will keep you informed!-Take care-Gearhead.
