Got my Saiga II - yesterday - beautiful shape - sure there's a few things I can point out- rivets, one poor solder, but come on it's an AK - not a Ducks Unlimited raffled shotgun - With all the negative posts about this rifle I was worried - but now I'm happy
I love this AK - I have yet to get it to the range though so I can't comment on that end yet -- I'll repost when I do - I got the rifle thru www.williamsandsonarms.com (http://www.williamsandsonarms.com) ( the rifle is put together by D.G.S.) -- great people to deal with - I dealt with Brad .. very informative and willing to bend over backwards to satisfy his customers - quick replies to all emails I sent out - I can't say enough - I can say this because even after the purchase was made the same personal quality continued -- unlike some dealers - nice till they have the $ then it's off and short unless you willing to spend more $ right then and there (not all but quite a few)- I will continue to do business with Williams and Son whenever possible -- and I encourage others to do the same - you won't regret it...well - I don't anyway - and be sure to post positive emails about great service from some other folks too -- they deserve -- a lot of us are fast to condemn bad/poor service - let's pass on the good stuff too-- divert funds to the people - who work for it -
By the way the rifle does come with warranty -- yadda, yadda, yadda
Thanks Brad again for all the help and great service!

Williams & Sons is INDEED a great outfit - I have some gripes about D&G's workmanship on the AK103, but that has nothing to do with Williams & Sons. I would buy from them again in a heartbeat http://www.ak-47.net/akcgi/smile.gif

I agree --if DGS would pay a little more attention to detail they could be doing themselves a huge favor---simple errors -- and as everyone knows the good stuff gets repeated twice and the bad - countless times - it's human nature -- hopefully it won't reflect negatively on Williams and Son - because they are a great outfit --
To clarify also - that the issues with my SAIGA II are not severe - very minor!
Thanks
Good buy for the $ -

Jscor-

That's pretty much my feeling too. I was sort of freaked out at first by all the negative press. I admit that I caved in to the negative wave for a few days. But the truth is that my D.G.S. 103 works fine. All the mechanics work flawlessly. My old beat up Hungarian mags fit just as well as the East German steel mags that came with it. And it shoots great.

The criticism of the stock is really a personal aesthetic thing. Mine looks good to me. I do admit that the paint job was bad, but since it costs 250 bucks less than a Krebs, I can live with the paint job. I really only cared about accuracy and performance, and so far its good in those areas.
