Can any of you tell me some loads that work well for you that I can try in my rifles?

I use Nosler 125 gr Ballistic Tips , winchester brass, winchester primers and AA1680. They are outstanding agaist deer out to about 250 yards. The wounds are nasty compare to store bought winchester hunting ammo. We hunted does back in October and I used the store bought ammo, my father and a friend used my reloads(dad has a mini-30 and Mitch has a sks)
I think I started with 25 grs and worked up to 27.5 but need to check on that.

I've reloaded for some time for the 7.62x39 and the best one I've come up with is this:

Bullet: 125gr(SP or FMJ)Hornaday .311 cal. classified as the .303 British.

Powder:27.5gr Reloader7

Most AK's are accually chamber in .311 not .308. While I've seen loads for the .308 bullet the accuacy does suffer some with the smaller bullet. I tried using a 150gr .308HPBT once and wasn't satisfied with the results.

I'm working on a load that uses H335. If you are curious about that work up email me.

As far as cost goes you won't save a dime, in fact it's much more expensive, but your groups will shrink considerably.

I use the Hornady .310 diam 123grn bullet with 25 grains of reloader 7 powder. I get about 3" groups at 100 but I aint very steady and that is with open sights.

Sierra 125gr bullet, 27.1 grains IMR 4895 powder works well for me. HTH, Beetle

Has anyone checked this cost thing? I realize that to reload 7.62x39 with all new components is about 2x or 3x the price of the cheap imports but what about after the second or third reload? (Assuming you have a brass catcher and you AK doesn't huck your brass into the next time zone like mine does....)
I think I'm sticking with the cheap stuff but I've wondered.

While reloading for handgun wil damaticaly cut your costs, reloading for rifle is usually a labor of love and end up costing a little more.
But the art of rifle shooting is about accuracy and tuning loads to your gun is the real game.
