Need some info:

Several years ago (1997 or so) I came into possession of a Colt AR that is marked as follows

Colt Match Target Tactical Elite, Cal 223, Ser# SR000314
IVP 223 REM 1/8 BULL BBL

I've tried to find info on this rifle at the Colt site, and I've Goggled it with no results. I still have the box and manual for this rifle.

Any info would be appreciated, especially value and scarcity of it.

Thanks

Ranger

Ken, I had just posted a picture of the rifle in question, it's not mine. If you're looking to buy one try visiting the popular auction/classified websites.

Hope this helps!

Sorry that I have not replied sooner. Been gone for a while, back now.

Yes, that is the one. What can you tell me about it?

Thanks

Ranger, there were only 1,000 of the TE6700 made by the Colt Custom Shop from 1996-1997. It has a 20" heavy barrel with a 1:8" twist rate. This should allow you to use up to an 80 gr. bullet. As for value, I can only give you a point of reference from the Blue Book. I haven't seen one for sale in a long time.

Values from the Blue Book Of Gun Values - 28th Edition -

100% - $1,650
98% - $1,450
95% - $1,250
90% - $1,025
80% - $900
70% - $800
60% - $700

Hope this helps!

Mace,
Thank you for the info you posted here. I also have one of these rifles, which I won in '98 at a LE conference raffle. I paid $30 for 3 tickets (the wife said I should get a 3rd one), and $14 for the paperwork. The only thing I have added is a Harris bi-pod. It has less than 100 rounds through it, as I don't have a range close by to shoot at. But that's going to change! Imagine my surprise, to find I have a somewhat rare rifle.
