It's considerably more than a .223, but nothing crazy. Less than a bolt gun chambered in a comparable caliber.

i dont know? my AP4 didnt seem to bad when i sighted it in after getting home i noticed my shoulder was sore for 2 days after 50 rds or so,granted i had only a t-shirt on that day. when i converted my saiga 308 to a drag type stock i really noticed an increase in recoil, stock was maybe 1-2 in shorter and no meat to it in the center so i probably lost at least a third to one half of a pound in weight compared to the regular rifle stock but they will kick harder then 223 such as in my M4 bushie, but on the recieving end pure ass firepower for a semiauto in both weapons. every time i take either out to the range i usually pay with a sore shoulder in the summer never happened with my 223 or 7.62x39 even after a few hundred rds.

Heavy barrel guns are comfortable, light guns, under 9 pounds beat you up.

I shoot AR-10 & AR-15 bare armed all summer. The 10 is quite a bit more, but I would compare it to an AK-47 with some good loads.
Nowhere near a .308 bolt and not even the same league as a .30-06.
