Are the P-Mags in Recons posting above any good? How do they rate with other steel or aluminum mags with the green follower?
Thanks, American-47

They are very robust made mags. I like them. Hope to test them soon at the range.

I got a few from Chuck at Operations Parts and they are very nice! I got the ones w/o the windows and I paid about $14/each-and the service is outstanding. I'll be getting my Masada from Chuck when they come out (hopefully) next year.

No, I don't have the skinny on that yet. He often sets up at the Birch Run show, but I didn't see him there this past weekend but I will probably give him a call in the next week or two. From our past conversations he seems a bit skeptical as to when they will hit the market but he will know a lot more after the Shot Show.
For those of you who know his reputation and live in Michigan, Chuck has been busting his hump lately getting his store up to speed that he opened in Linden, so we will have a direct line to his products.

Someone else posted on another thread how the P-mags seem to feed smoother then the US GI aluminum mags so I tried the test they mentioned.
Try pushing a .223 round out of a standard aluminum mag with your thumb and then do the same with a P-mag, much easier with the P-mag.
Same thing with chambering a round in that if you ride the charging handle down ( I know your not supposed to do this) with a round out of a aluminum or steel mag it often sticks or hangs up.
Try it with a P-mag and it almost always slides shut. Plus the P-mags seem to be more robust in tests then standard GI aluminum mags.
The only complaints I've seen are military people saying you cannot put 3 P-mags in the same magazine pouches on vests that will hold 3 USGI aluminum mags because the P-mag bases are fatter. And there has been talk of the feed lips spreading on loaded P-mags over time unless you keep the covers that come with them on. I kept 2 P-mags loaded without their covers for 2 months and noticed no difference between them and the 2 P-mags I kept unloaded. That being said I still keep my covers on mostly so as to not lose the covers.
The 4 P-mags I own have been 100% reliable in both my Ar's. If I purchase more AR mags, those mags will more then likely be P-mags.
