It is supposed to reduce felt recoil so as to make follow up shots quicker. I noticed no difference in felt recoil. None at all. And I noticed an increased number of feeding problems, bolt hold open would work sporadically. All in all I wouldnt advise purchasing one of these.
I realize this is a dumb question, but...did you get the correct buffer for your rig? They have the carbine AND full stock version.

Yes sir, i have a carbine and got a carbine buffer. I base my judgements on lack of recoil reduction on the fact that when i was shooting my gun with the buffer in it my friend was shooting his Colt Sporter carbine and even though his gun is much lighter then mine (so the recoil should be more) i felt no difference in shooing my gun with the Enidine buffer in it and his that did not have one.
