My buddy in Europe wants an AR-10 type rifle. He has Sig's and normal ARs but is looking to get the big dog now, god help him.

"I want an AR-10 cal .308 . Which model or cunstructor is good? RRA LAR-8 Standard A2, is that an AR-10? What are you thinking? An what costs a good model. I want one with 20'' barrel, an A2 upper, 2 stage trigger, and 1/4 min elevation. "

I need to do the research in English for him, I dont know .308 ARs that well and want to know from you yahoos

....which is Best, DPMS, RRA etc???

Thanks
Remdog

DPMS is getting a lot of postivie talk from all I've read about them. They use a proprietary 20 round steel mag, about $40 bucks if I remember correctly.

The RR Lar-8 to my knowledge is still NOT on the market but does show up on their web site. It will use FAL mags, which is the attractive part about it given the low price of FAL metric magazines.

Armalite AR-10 rifles are pretty good but they do use converted M14 magazines and those aren't cheap, $60 bucks each possibly. They have been reported to be a little particular on what ammo they'll run.

Then there's always Stoners SR25 for megga bucks, good by reputation but you need to be a lotto winner to afford one.

I've had good luck with the SR-25 and AR-10

We have an Armalite AR-10, but I like Bushmaster ARs best.
