Most reliable "makes anything work" would be either CCI Minimags or Winchester Power Points (neither very cheap).

Otherwise I like most anything from Aguila (SSS's aside, not stable enough in anything I have). I use Colibri's for indoor home practice out of CZ Scout bolt (so far all make it out of the barrel) and mostly Subsonics from Aguila out of my revolvers. The HV and HyperV stuff works about as well as the aforementioned CCI MM's and Win PP's at about the same price per brick (w/ CCI MM's still the highest). And Aguila standard vel. seems to be the best out of my older Beretta model 70. The 70 will eat any of the higher vel. stuff so far, but as I am betting it has its original springs, why bother, the standard works great.

Mostly, I love 22's for the versatility and availability of ammo types/choices.

Strangely enough, in my area, Remington rimfire ammo is comparatively scarce (aside from GB bulk), but then again, so is Winchester (their problem however, is better known, I think).

My Beretta NEOS and my 10/22 both like Wal-Mart Federal bulk 550-pack, but my wife's Sig Mosquito likes 40gr CCI Mini-Mags.

I have found that it is the primers that seem to be the most unreliable component of the .22lr. That being said I have found the most reliable + inexpensive .22lr to be the Federal 36gr copper jacketed 550rd value pack. They run well in 2 different .22 rifles and three different .22 pistols we often shoot.

About the only thing I buy these days is Winchester Expert and CCI Stingers. I use to buy the Federal bulk pack, but then started getting too many snaps, seemed like one in five was a dud! Same thing with Thunderbolts.

i use the thunderbolts myself.

they arent the greatest, but i small game hunt w/ them, so they dont need "match accuracy" and the price ive been getting them for up to a few mths ago was still about $5 less than the next cheapest.
