I think they're dropping the Masada name in favor of Adaptive Combat Rifle or ACR. Cute little acronyms or 3 letter names are more "military" in nature and less ethnic.

Antisemites might not buy the rifle if it's named Masad but "hey Bubba give me one of them thar ACR things! Ye-haw!" ;)
