Hi,

I just got a new AR 10 .308 caliber rifle from Armalite. I have started breaking in the rifle with the manufacture's recommended ammunition and the rifle will not cycle correctly. After the first shot the bolt will completely open and close but will forget to pick up the second bullet to put into the chamber.
The 10 round magazine is completely seated in the magazine well and the rifle is lubercated as instructed by the manufacturer. :gruebel:

I had the same problem amongst others with a new Armalite AR-10.
There's a thread about it somewhere...I'll look for it.
Just a little ol' spring....extractor.

Found it. Click here to see how it all came out: http://www.gunsnet.net/forums/showthread.php?t=315507&highlight=jamming

Weak extractor spring huh Joe!? That's sooooo M16 / AR15 of the weapon! So what I learned today is that yes even the .308 caliber Stoner design can suffer from a weak extractor spring and too much chamber pressure given stuck cases or a dropped case during extraction cycle.
