Stupid question

I'm new to the AK/AKM world. I bought a SSR-85 about a month ago, great gun. The only
thing is that the top wood handgaurd around the gas tube is a loose, it swivals a little to the right and left. Is their a good way to tighten this up. Thanks

Not stupid at all... and you made a GREAT choice - the SSR-85 is probably the best buy out there today.

Remove your gas tube & put the squared off "tail" in a vice with a rag. Rotate the top handguard 180 degrees (twist it). Now that it's off, add just a FILM of clear epoxy to the far ends - just a top coat. Let cure, then re-install. If it's REAL tight, gently sand the epoxy with a dremmel.
