How long will AK mags last?

That is a good question. The way I figure it, it could last almost as long as the rifle itself. I odn't think an AK mag lived long enough to wear out before being destroyed. Dunno, but could be.

I have one magazine I use for all shooting for about 9 years now it's spring and follower are just as tight as a new one.

Oh barring loss, or accidental damage one a good steel AK47 mag should outlast at least 2 or three AKs. In fact the vast majority of the mags we see on the market here in the US have been refinished at least once or have been well used in their lives. Yet almost all feed and function quite well.

Take care!

I have some Chinese 30rd AK mags that came with a couple of SKS's I bought in 1989 that use AK mags. They have been loaded and fired 100's of times. Still work just as good as when they were new. 4 of them have been fully loaded for 9 years now. The last time I shot them was this spring and they were 100% reliable.

You're kidding, right? Ak mags don't wear out, barring act of g-d.

Man, just *look* at them! You can beat someone to death with one if ya' run out of ammo! Something which is over-engineered.

The biggest problem I've ever had is rust, and if I had the money to get them parked, that would solve it.
