This thing loves Portuguese FMN surplus, and I can reliably hit the 200 yard gong at my range if I do my part and concentrate and relax. I have 3 USA brand magazines that came with it, which are absolute junk, but I've modified 25 round Galil .308 mags and they work beautifully.

Just thought I'd send this BTT. It's sure is purty!
How many rounds have got through it now?
Ever decide which way to go for a scope rig?

Just under 1K through it so far, mixed Portuguese FNM, Austrian Hirtenberger, and British Radway Green. I haven't noticed much difference in the way it shoots with the 3 different types of ammo, with maybe a slight edge going to the Austrian Hirtenberger stuff.
I've got to hold off on a scope mount/set-up for right now, getting married in Sept. and all funds are earmarked for that endeavor right now.

Templar,
those modified Galil mags you speak of, are they the early modified M14 mags? They kinda look like 'em in the photo....

DK, those are the POS USA magazines in it in the photo. They originally were M14 mags from USA I think, but then were modified (not by me) for the Yugo.
The Galil mags that I have are standard 25 round IMI mags. Function flawlessly and looks good too.

Looks like a keeper. Had the choice of the 7.62 NATO or M43, I took the M43. I sometimes have my regrets about the choice, but the M90 is a keeper also. cya

Thanks for the best wishes on my upcoming wedding. she has gone shooting with me and really likes my Ruger MK II standard 6" FS, but she also handles the CZ-75B just fine. Also knows how to handle an AK, it was the first rifle that she had ever fired, indeed, she had never gone shooting before she met me. http://www.ak47forums.com/cool.gif
Backblast...NEVER regret buying a Yugo....
I think you made an excellent choice. Panzerschreck has a Yugo in 7.62x39mm and I have one in 7.62x51mm, so when we want, we switch rifles at the range for a while. Certainly mags are a
WHOLE lot cheaper.
Unfortunately, looks like I'm going to have to sell my last 7.62x39mm AK. I have a Prochine (Norinco) that I installed a Romanian side folding stock kit and forearm on that I'm probably going to have to let go. It is the most easily replaceable rifle that I own, and with the cost of the ceremony and honeymoon, most likely I'm going to have to do it. I'll keep you guys updated on it though.
Thanks again for the support! http://www.ak47forums.com/biggrin.gif

Oh by no means do I regret the Yugo. It is just the caliber I sometimes wish I would have picked up the 7.62 NATO. That's all.
BTW, I forgot to mention - Congratulations! Hope the best for you two. cya
