Here's some information I saved from the FAL Files about Tritium Night Sight replacement. Again, I have no personal experience with this company.

Hope this helps!

Thanks to all for recommending Burford Arms out of Dallas,TX for tritium replacement. I'm sending off my Valmet 76 front sight and they are going to install the dreaded (GASP!) tritium vial. Should cost around $130 to $200 but they install Trijicon vials that last a lifetime. Weird huh? Trijicon won't talk to me but they install Trijicon vials.

Now for the neat part. I mentioned how many here have desired re-activating the SUIT scopes and they told me for anyone interested, just send in your SUIT and they would take a look and see if it's possible. Never saw one or worked on one, but with a sample they just may be able to breath new life in the SUIT! Just insure it and send it to the attention of John Mark and he'll see if it's possible.

I guess I should have hung on to the mint SUIT I recently sold. :-) So there you have it, Valmet 76 front sight problem solved by the pro's at Burford Arms. Call 972-790-3145 and talk to John. 'Ya just never know!

Thanks again,
Mark Powell

So you're saying they have "magic" tritium?

The isotope would have to be different for it to glow longer than tritium.. Is it from Chernobyl? http://www.ak47forums.com/smile.gif

Mike,

No, I'm not saying anything like that.

All I'm saying is, here's a place where you may be able to get new night sights for Valmets.

I'm familiar with the 12 year half life of tritium and how "half life" works. I don't believe in magic.

I didn't write the message. I merely "saved" it and then reposted it.

Just trying to help out, that's all.

Thanks Yog. I know a lot of guys with Galils and Valmets and Yugo's out there that need to have the tritium recharged. Now I can point them in the right direction.

Thanks again.

We have found an even better source at the Valmet Club.

We contacted Trijicon and were referred to their custom shop. We are sending in the first 18 sets this Monday. Cost is $75 a set for front and rear, plus shipping. All the information on this is located at the Valmet Club.

We did it! The Valmet Club has found just received the first round of Valmet night sights. We sent in 18 sets and just got them back!
The sights are totally restored. The white rings have been touched up to make them fresh. New tritium capsules installed.

Here are some pics!
