View Full Version : Just got a new Valmet...
Just wanted to drop a line, got my Valmet 5.56 M76-W in today. This thing looks unfired. Came in the right box, ser. # to gun, and owner's manual and assorted paperwork, one factory 15 round mag, 3 new Tromix 30 rounders, factory cleaning kit in the green pouch, and Valmet scope mount (w/o top cover). I'm real pleased w/ this rifle!
Hope to get out and shoot this weekend, will advise.....

Congratulations on your new toy...ah, almost nothing beats that first feeling of nervous apprehension as you open the box for the first time and are then rewarded with a fine piece of hardware.
Take care of your new baby! Remember to feed it often and in high quantities.

Ha!! Will do!
Bought it from Mark Powell, and he even wrapped the Valmet box in para cord rather than taping it shut so as not to damage the box, then placed that inside another box to ship !!! Gotta love that!
Anyone know of price/availability of Valmet port buffers? Templar?

There was one on Bowers board about 6 months ago that sold for $50.00. Guy said he could have sold 20 if he had em. I need one and also a new rubber insert for one I've got that's beat.

The only ideas I have on port buffers would be to try Cape Outfitters, I know they handled some Valmet accessories at one time. Other than that, cruise the boards....
If I see any, I'll try to get some and pass them along to you guys.

Anybody have any experience with the MCP 40 rounders for the .223 Valmets? Are they the same as "Max Capacity" brand? Are they reliable? What's a fair price for them?

MICKB: Sorry...the info you seek is on the VALMET Weapons Club board at the YAHOO Clubs http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/valmetweaponsclub
This page has a link to the PDF. Also I have one of the 40 rounders you mentioned and I was told it was made by SAKO under contract and it works fine. I recv. mine with the rifle when I bought it new and have seen them listed for 100.00 and up to 130.00.
