Sounds like you need a SAR3 too http://www.ak47forums.com/biggrin.gif cya

I remember advising some one how to get a Norinco 223 mag to work in a SAR, but I assumed he was talking about a SAR 3. Gee was that you?

No Ekie, I was just sitting around and grabbed a 30 rd Norinco one day and it fit into my SAR-2 magwell, I took it out and put some 5.45 in, I thought Eureka! I will be famous in AK land! But no they not only jam in the rifle but also in the magazine...I will find a MAK in .223 sometime, I plan on one more Sar-2 then someday a .223 Ak, I have AR's to handle that caliber, but I have not shot either since hooked on AK's in late 80's. Uncle Sam gave me plenty of opportunities to shoot the "Other" Rifle, so I just have fun with the AK's now. http://www.ak47forums.com/smile.gif

I have 5.45X39 brand new mags to fit the SAR2,plus you can get German Steel mags (30 rnd) from Inter Ordnance,$19.95 each, brand new for the SAR3,these Russian 223 mags I have are Bakelite, brand new,4 in a pouch w/sling and cleaning kit.$25+shipping.tjflicka@aol.com

I think the bakelite mags you have are for the 5.45X39 not the 5.56X45(.223)
The shouldn't feed properly because of case angles.

I have loaded them with 223 Nato, put it in my SAR3 and they worked,(MOST OF THE TIME),Kurt at KurtsKustoms and I both shot a couple of Bakelite Mags full of Nato 223 out of the SAR3,some of the Bakelite Do Not work though,it seems that Century Arms is using Bakelite mags w/ their SAR3's,they are making a slight alteration to the bakelites to make them work everytime, but as I said,I have some that already work w/the SAR3,with NO changes.I believe if you don't fill the mag up w/30 rnds.they seem to work better.
