Got SAR-2, lost extractor spring - doh!

Got my Century SAR-2 yesterday. It came with cleaning rod, buttstock cleaning kit, sling, two 10 round steel mags, and one high cap (30 round?) Bakelite mag. It was full of nasty communist grease, so I thought I'd follow along with Robert Dunlap on the AGI video and clean it up. (Yeah, I know, that was my first mistake. Should have just shot the damned grease out. http://www.ak47forums.com/smile.gif) Anyway, I did OK until my extractor and spring flew off into space. The extractor was easy to find, but the spring seems to have evaporated. The gun is reassembled without it.

www.sksparts.com (http://www.sksparts.com) has the springs for $5.95(????!!!!). I'll keep looking, but if any of y'all knows of a better deal, please let me know. Once this evil commie weapon is back in shooting condition, it ought to be a lot of fun. http://www.ak47forums.com/smile.gif

I don't know where to get the spring unlees you want to try emailing either Mike@MSC or informer and asking them if they might have a spare you can get for a reasonable price.

Goto www.globaltrades.com (http://www.globaltrades.com) and they have a replacement spring kit for 12.95 I believe. It has all the springs in an AK for spares, including an extractor spring. Nice thing to have that kit is.

Let see, there is an extractor spring, recoil, sear, mag and hammer. Not a bad deal.

May one assume that the AK-74 extractor spring is the same as the AK-47 extractor spring?
