Tantal, how many real AK parts are on that thing?
I mean would a new receiver and fire control parts add up to a rifle?
Thanks,
Mike

It is certified as an air rifle by ATF, and thus is not a firearm, legal in every state so far, I've heard some grumbling about them banning look-a-like rifles in Cali sometime soon, don't know much about what the laws will do in the future, i doubt there will be much longer time that we can get these rifles, they scare the crap out of liberals. Honestly, this rifle is basically a demilled AK-74 right off the new production line, with a Baikal pistol installed in it's guts.

We took one to local gun show...first they demanded that we put a nylon tie through the action...I explained that it didn't have an action so they settled for a tie through the trigerguard and around pistol grip...he, he, he.
Then somf folks got excited because the 'magazine was in the gun' and even with a lot of show and tell...they could not be pleased...black gun syndrone I guess. Insisted we remove mag, which we did after they surrounded us with cops and show people...and were embarassed when we not only complied but showed them that the magazine was not even capable of being loaded with real ammunition.
That show had numerous AK rifles on tables, and bb-guns with built on magazines which offended no one.
Some folks just don't know how to have fun....

That comp sure looks like a late style real deal. Is is chrome lined and threaded the standard 23mm.

Yes, it is late production, chrome lined, 23mm threaded, comes right off. It has the scalloped, long, smooth transitional step rather than a straight angle step, like on the Bulgarian model. It also has the much longer mounting collar so it is more stable and tighter on the rifle. .It only has the omission of the center pressed in expansion chamber face, the part that makes it a "two-piece" construction. I guess this was done to make it non-functional, hardly a permanent feature. This is one of the only ways to easily get a real Russian late style MB. It think it is almost identical to my military issue version, the one I have a photo of on my web site

He got me as in I want one badly. I bought a SAR-2 instead 2 weeks ago. I figured a real gun would come first. Now I'm ready for the BB version http://www.ak47forums.com/smile.gif

Once a few were sold, and folks had a chance to see them, they sold very fast. Now they are gone, and I hope to get more in as soon as they clear Customs.

That is a good price, I think I was getting $10 more, plus shipping expenses. Since they are still unavailalbe and who knows if they will clear Customs, I would get it no doubt about that, and I would bet you will not find one cheaper than that. There are less than 100-150 in the US at this time, so you can see these are very rare. They should rise in value greatly in the next few years, I highly doubt if Uncle sam allows many more to come in. I was saving a few back for myself, and I took so many orders for them that I had to let them go, now I wish I had saved at least two or three.
