hello all
I've been reading up on AK s for a few months and find them very interesting if a bit confusing. At a local small gun show last weekend there were only two Ak s - a Mak and a Saiga 10 that had been converted to hi cap, it was identified as new with one ten round mag and one 30 rounder for $389.It looked good compared to the only other Saiga I saw a couple of months ago at another show. Is it usual to see the low caps converted to hi caps and if so does anybody know a normal selling price for them? I don' t know if it had the US internals or not. Thanks for any information.

Alot of people have converted theres they are good guns. It is getting more common by the day with the stoppage of imported recievers and barrels, however 10rd guns are still legal to import. So they get em here cut em up and reshape them into something looking more like an AK. The AK103 clones that are starting to become common are all Siaga based and probably the closest thing to a genuine Russian you will see for less than $3K. $385 doesnt sound bad offhand I havent shopped for one of these specifically myself though. See if it was done by a professional group like Krebs or an independent smith. Good luck!

That seems cheap to me. I paid 495 for mine. But mine had a muzzle break and Kvar stock. A lot depends on what it has on it, and the quality of the work done. I am pretty happy with mine.

You can get in touch with Brad Williams who sales them at www.williamsandsonarms.com (http://www.williamsandsonarms.com) if you are interested. Tell him Derek aka Southernshark sent you.
