They are supposed to have good stuff, but my experience with them hasn't been as favorable. I sent two uppers back with a blue/green tint to them that I can only describe as what looked to be a somewhat "thin" anodized finish. It was viewable in natural, flourescent, and incandecsant lighting, and was more noticable with an oiled surface.

An email was sent, and we were told to send them back for inspection / replacement. They received them on the 6th.

A week later, after not hearing from them, we followed up with a phone call and were told that they were very busy, and that we'd get a return call "when they had a chance". They did acknowledge that they had received them, however.

After nearly another week and no call, I decided to try a different method and PMd them through the arfcom site. The PM bounced because their box was full. So, as a last resort I started a thread on their forum requesting a status check.

Their response was that there was nothing wrong with the receivers and a refund was processed. Shit.

I didn't want a refund, I wanted my uppers. Hell, I would have settled for the damned barrel assemblies, but instead of working through the problem, I was basically told tough shit, go to the back of the line and wait. Maybe the next time around you'll get a better finish, and if you don't you'll know better than to complain. Oh, and the $35 to return them? That's on me.

I know that everyone in this field is busy, but it's not the easy times when you find out who is dedicated to satisfying customers, and who plays lip service to it. I don't doubt that BCM puts out a good performing product, but I don't appreciate the manner in which they handled this situation. It left me with the opinion that as long as they had people lining up to buy anything they had, they didn't really see any reason to resolve a customer's problem.

I would have probably kept the uppers and either replaced the receivers or refinished them over that 1970's neon green boomstick tint had I known the manner in which they would choose to handle the issue. Hindsight is 20-20 I suppose.
