I'm new to the ar-15 and have a problem. I purchased a oly arms a-1 at a gun show(probably shouldn't have) and have a problem with it. It will chamber 1st round and fire, then tries to stuff 2-3 rounds in on the next! What's my trouble? Help would greatly be appreciated.

I'm no Oly fan... but, that doesn't help.
Sounds like the mag isn't in fully, or it isn't cycling completely.
Is it extracting the spent round?

Put a new extractor spring in your bolt.
I bought a used oly sgw once, it did the same exact thing when I first took it out shooting.
It's not an olympic arms thing, it's a worn out part thing.
Don't tell people here you have an Olympic arms rifle either. It won't matter to them you BOUGHT A USED RIFLE FROM SOMEONE AND NONE OF YOUR MONEY WENT TO OLYMPIC ARMS.

Thanks for the input. Will an aftermarket spring due or should it be factory? And it does eject the 1st round but tries to feed up to 3 casing at one time.

Oh, your problem is different than what I understood from your original post. Dunno what might be causing that. Don't worry, someone will come along sooner or later and chime in.

Try another mag first.
Make sure your mag isn't loose in the lower as well... check the mag catch too.
If it is not seated all the way up tight, it's easy to feed more than one.
3 is odd though...

sounds like a mag issue ..... I hope you can get your own gun working....OLYMPIC ARMS are a bunch of ASSHOLES

Note: Clean your upper WELL if it isn't the mag.
If the bolt is closing slowly due to shit built up in the upper, that can do it too.
I would focus on the mag seating first though.

Bad mag...Or mag catch.

Does sound like a mag issue. Like the feed lips are either worn, bent, or cracked. It happens when one mag is used to fire a few cases of ammo.
