I'm looking forward to getting my new Kobra for X-mas. I was wondering about what kind of accuracy improvement I can expect over my crappy old iron sights ? I have an old Maadi with the dreaded threaded muzzle brake and all the other bad things.

The Kobra has about a 1.8 MOA dot and on my SLR-95 I could get 2" groups at 100yds from a rest w/a Kobra and about 3"-4" groups using the iron sights. Just remember that as good as the Kobra is it won't improve the inherent accuracy (or lack thereof) of your AK. Keep us posted...

Tomac is quite correct in stating tha a red dot scope will not improve the inherent accuracy of a given weapon. What it will do is improve YOUR ability to rapidly acquire, engage and transition to subsequent targets. I have employed a weapon fitted with an Aimpoint COMP-M for years and it has proven to be exceptionally effective for it's intended CQB applications. The RU KOBRA I received from Tantal in the mail yesterday can likewise be expected to increase the viability of my ROMAK II 5.45mm in three gun matches substantially.

I recently added a Kobra to my SLR-95 and went to the range today to sight it in. Right out of the box, I was right 3inches and up 6inches at 75yds. I was going for 1inch up and center line at 75 yds. It only took about 15 rounds and 2 adjustments to get it right. I was adjusting 2-3 clicks at a time and firing 3 rounds each. I used the directions Tantal had on his website as a basic guide.
I finally got it right in there and was shooting 2-3 inch groups in the head region at 75yds. Remember, this sight is designed to get you on a tgt quick, not like a typical site that you would setup for center of mass accuracy. Overall, I am very pleased with the Kobra and feel it is easy to setup and use.....
