Long eye relief scope??

I am attaching a scope to my Mosin M-44. I milled a see-through scope mount which attaches to the rear site base. since it will still have the straight bolt handle, the scope can only come be mounted so far back. (about 9 inches of eye relief) This is a set-up fairly similar to the set-up for the steyr scout rifle. Any scope suggestions for this? I'm only expecting to shoot at ranges out to 300 yards maximum.

midway reloading is selling a bsa pistol scope for 59.95 s&h incl.i don't have much experiance with bsa other than a spotting scope but this might fit the bill.
