Hey guys, I have been reading up on these and the more I read the more I am interested. I think I am going to order one of these for my SAR-2 when the budget permits it (not too punishing at $350). Does anyone have any experience with these? I plan on using one for Coyote hunting.

You get what you pay for when it comes to Russian night vision. The clarity isn't there and the magnification is so-so.Just be warned and you will see why US nvg's cost what they do.

Did you get one yet? Id be honest in saying tha the only gen 1 scope Ive liked, was a hybrid Russian/US made model. It had a Russian tube, US electronics and optics, and it looked sharp, like a gen 2 or almost a 3. Ill be damn if I can remember the name of the company selling them, but I know there were right around 400 bucks. I see them at gunshows, in Charolette NC. Next time I go, ill get a number for you if interested.

Thanks for the link, SKS Lover. Good selection & reasonable prices overall. And $400 for a night-vision scope with AK mounting rail is the cheapest I've seen anywhere.
I'm in the same market for the same reason. We won't talk about the silliness of putting a $400 scope on a $300 rifle.
$400 is less than a quarter the price of generation 2 & 3 riflescopes. But it's no bargain if it doesn't serve its intended purpose - i.e. song dogs in the moonlight at 100 yards.
Let us know what you decide to do. I think you should buy one of each and give the rest of us a full report.
