I remember mine - circa 1988 Medford, Oregon gun show - someone had taken a A2 Oly and cut the front sight tower off and the carry handle from an A2, mating a pair of weaver bases on the A2 riser stubs and mounting a 3-9x scope.... I thought it looked really odd.... but .... I guess the idea took off.
