Gentlemen:

In the User CP, I was surprised to see there is no accomodation for installing one's personal avatar. Since this is my first visit, I thought it might have to do with a personal avatar only being allowed to a select group. So I checked the avatars available, figuring to use the NRA membership emblem.

How about that? NO NRA! (?)

So, what is the story on avatars here? :confused:

FloridaFialaFan, I believe avatars fall into the same basic category as pictures and links. You'll need at least 50 posts before you can use any of them. This helps minimize spamming on the website.

However, admin should be thinking about adding the NRA emblem to the list of "stock" avatars available if nothing else... and maybe the flag of each state.... just an idea. Oh yeah, how about company logos like Colt, S&W, etc.? There are a BUNCH of pics on there now that I personally would replace.

I love talking guns so shouldn't take too long to build up enough posts. Does the system automatically notify you, or do you have to just keep going back to check?

The system will keep track of your posts but it does not notify you that you can now post picts, etc. Just watch the post count go up above 50 and you are good.
