I cast my vote for the M24/47 since they are reworks of VZ-24's and FN Mausers. The fit and finish on mine is superb! The M-48's are nice as well. The best idea IMO is to get BOTH!!!

I don't think either is "better". That said I really like my V24/47!

What are the differences between the two?

I've got a M-48A, my friend has a M24/47. Besides mine having a stamped floorplate (M48's and M24/47 have milled), the only differences I can see are cosmetic (e.g. bent v/s straight bolt): The M-48A is styled like a German 98.k and the M24/47 is styled like a Czech VZ 24. I've heard that the M-48/M-48A are indiginous production & the M24/47's are aresenal reworks of Mausers from other countries, but I see no difference. Both guns are splendid.
