Duce,

You have some really beautiful rifles!

8dDuce, I share your love of the Swedish Mausers. My first Surplus military rifle was an M96/38 Swed. A C.Gust. arsenal from 1918 (?) that had been shortened into the M38 short rifle config. It has a threaded barrel for the blank adaptor to shread the wooden bullets. It also has the dial rear sight. Sometimes referred to as the "Naval" sight because there is a little Viking ship engraved on it.

That gives me an  I should try out the new camera to get a pic of that rifles rear sight for the C&R pages. Some may not know what I'm talking about. These are a little bit rare, though not uncommon.

I was watching some show last night about the Pope and it showed a brief shot of the Armory the Swiss Guard has at the Vatican. Looked like a LOOOOOOONG row of Swede's running down the middle ofthe room. Bet those babies are in immaculate condition. Wonder if they would ever get rid of them? I may have to convert :D

 I wonder why Swiss would use Swedish Mausers?

I thought about that but in the short glimpse I got that is the rifle they looked like. Maybe the Vatican bought them for the guard? They definelty had a standard bolt handle not like a K-31. Either way it looked like they had some pretty nice C&R stuff.

I have surfing through some old pictures. I do not have a camera anymore. I bought this weapon back in 1996. It was $125.00, and an extra $25.00 for the bayonet. I wish I had bought the other two Dennis had. One was a turned down bolt. 8dDUCE.

If those rifles ever made it to the U.S.market I would have to dig deep into the savings account for as many as I could afford. I bet they are pristine.
