shoots low

I picked up a ij-70 Makarov this week end,probally paid to much, 150.00 hoster and two mags.
Anyway shot it this morning and it shoots about 6" low at a good eight paces from the target. it has the target rear sight,is this adjustable for elevation and if so,how?

I never could get those IJ70's to shoot the way I wanted...

Crank that rear sight real high. But be carefull, make sure that the screw on top of the sight does not come out.

I own two of this, 17AS and 17A, I like mine.

Spit Fire, what's the difference between the 17A and 17 AS? Are there any other variations? I have a 17A in layaway and was curious. Thanks.

17A is blue finish, 9x17mm caliber
17AS is silver color finish, 9x17mm caliber

There are also 18A, 18AH and may be a couple other. I would go to www.makarovpistol.com and check their FAQ. My 17AS is the avatar that I am using.
